Celtic Ties

Celtic Ties

A South Atlanta Irish music group, making music with
flute, fiddle, whistle, dulcimer, concertina, and guitar.

We boys and girls in "Celtic Ties" play Irish music on the Southside of Atlanta.  The tunes are mostly traditional Irish tunes over 150 years old. These tunes, having passed the test of time and good taste, help us hide the truth of our constant aging and suburban lifestyles. Please come  join us in the music, the rowdiness and the food and drink.
The lilt and rythmn of the old jigs, reels, and hornpipes lighten the work for us and can move you to spontaneous dance. So, don't be shy about bringing your hoop and hollars,or your whistle and wallets. Your gonna want to drink the coffee, taste the dessert and tip the band.

  1. Celtic Ties is playing again at Espresso Lane on the town Square in beautiful Newnan, Georgia. We will be playing traditional Irish music: jigs, reels, hornpipes, slides, and strathspeys. Hollis, Tamara and I will bring the rhythm, lilt and swing to you from 6:30 till 8:30PM. You bring the clapping, whistling, hollering, dancing and a little tip for the band. So get a little rowdy with us this Saturday night, indulge in great desserts and well brewed coffee, and you can still get home before the 11:00 o-clock news.

  3. We just posted and Ad on Craig's list for a Celtic Guitar player/singer. I hope we can find someone interested in adding to our mix who lives on the Southside of Atlanta. A guitarist/singer should really round out the sound of the group. I'll keep posting the progress.

  4. Well we have worked with two guitar players in the last two weeks. Both Players are very accomplished, both have great musical sense and a love of the style and flavor of the music we are playing. We hope to play more with each of them and keep our musical doors open and swinging.
